Anna Tropnikova is a PhD student in Film and Media Studies and Slavic, Fellow at Yale University. Her oil paintings have been lauded with numerous awards, including Utah's Best of State Art Show and various county-level competitions and grants. Her work has also appeared in installations and murals around Chicago, where she grew from a painter and commissioned artist into an animator and media scholar. Currently bi-coastal, Anna practices art and life on one coast, academia on the other. She's constantly considering Lamarre's distinction between drawing movement and moving drawings, her goal to create a mental reality more "real" than the moving image.
