His original interests were theater and writing, which led him to film.  Crefeld wrote, directed and produced The Right Brothers, a short film about college kids who build and fly a full-size Wright Brothers plane. He then wrote and directed the webseries/feature film hybrid, Mosaic, about a lonely girl who breaks into people’s houses to learn about their lives. He is currently obtaining his MFA in Film and Media Art at Emerson College in Boston and working on a “flash feature” entitled The Second Half, slated to begin shooting summer 2021. He is also working on his first novel, called God Doesn't Want Your Singing.
